Planning a trip or relocating with your pet? Whether you’re heading across the country or overseas, traveling with animals takes preparation—and Grove Center Veterinary Hospital is here to help make the process as smooth as possible.
Our veterinarian can issue the health certifications required for both domestic and international travel. These documents verify that your pet is healthy, vaccinated, and ready to go wherever your journey takes you.
If you’re traveling within the United States, your pet will need a domestic health certificate. This certificate confirms that your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccine and passed a physical exam. Domestic health certificates are usually valid for 30 days and are often required by most airlines, as well as some states and train lines.
Heading abroad? Requirements vary widely depending on the destination country. Some nations may require a microchip, specific vaccines, blood tests, or parasite treatments administered within a strict time frame. It’s crucial to research these guidelines in advance using the USDA Pet Travel website, or by contacting the embassy or consulate of your destination.
Once you know the requirements, contact our office to schedule your pet’s health exam. Some travel documents take time to complete, especially if lab work is needed.
Have questions? Give us a call—we’re here to help you and your furry friend travel with confidence.

Thank you to the Grove Center staff for being so loving, kind, and patient to Shady towards the end of his long life. My husband and I came here as Dr. Bender was transitioning into retirement and Dr. Malik took over. Shady was very old, we think he was 16 or 17 years old when he passed away in October. He had age-related complications and we felt his time was coming real soon. I always asked Angelina, Cristal, and Margaret questions relating to end of life expectations and they were so patient and honest with me. They have very big hearts. They were very gentle with Shady, showed interest in him as a patient, and were always quick to refill his medications. Same with Dr. Malik. Months before his death, Shady had a huge lump growing on his side and we took the risk, at his age, to send him into surgery. We figured, if he doesn't make it out of surgery, it's okay, that was his time. But Dr. Malik and his team did an amazing job of carefully removing it and his recovery was incredible. The several extra months we had with Shady was priceless before he finally reached the end of his life. I had even called them the morning we felt like Shady was ready to be put to sleep and was reassured that this was a reasonable decision. Of course, we will miss him terribly forever, but our next furry family member will be a patient of Dr. Malik's! He took excellent care of my pup and honestly the first vet we've been to where i don't feel like I'm getting rushed out the door. Dr Malik listens to all my questions and concerns and is very attenuative. You can tell he truly cares about the animals. He even came in when we had last minute emergency. In addition the rest of the office staff are tremendous. Highly recommend if you're in need of vet care. Suzanne Richard2024-10-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are such a kind and understanding staff, and when my cats come in there, they leave calmer than they were before. Also because they do some testing in house that can keep costs reasonable. I just feel lucky that they're so close to my house. Miranda Hunter2024-10-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is an excellent vet clinic! I can’t recommend them enough. They have taken good care of our puppy and the staff is all excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable and they always remember our pup and her quirks. They got her in same day when she had an ear infection. They were also super helpful when she was having some pain/discomfort after her spay and gave her a different medication which is working well for her. Overall, very responsive and helpful clinic. We look forward to continuing to take our pup here. kelly Brown2024-10-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We brought a pup in for a puncture wound. Grove Center was very thorough and had us in and out very quickly. Everyone was friendly too :) Len2024-10-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Malik is amazing. We’ve literally spent enough money on our dog’s allergies to make us cry. To include allergy testing and custom vaccinations. So we know he’s allergic to so much. But it was only after recurrent outbreaks one year after starting his custom allergy shots that we were at whits end when we took our dog to Dr Malik. He listened to every word we said, completely understood that after spending literally thousands we were done spending money on more tests - we just wanted our dog to be free of pain. After three years w different vets and vet specialists, it was Dr Malik who thought what we called hotspots weren’t actually hotspots, and it was Dr Malik who did some more investigation and determined that beyond our dog’s allergies, he had an autoimmune problem. And amazingly, with no more testing and just regular steroid pills, our dog is thriving. If you want a vet who will genuinely listen to you, call Grove Center and go see Doc Malik. His vet techs are incredible and a perfect match for him. Cool Spring2024-09-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. See my review on their Facebook page. Tired of the Foo Foo spay and neuter Vets? I breed and show top Champion sired English Labradors. One of our boys had a significant skin infection on his face. My breeder Vet is far away and this was pretty urgent. I remembered this Vet from the old days back when he did home Visits from a cargo van. I called, Angelina answered and set me up to come in within the hour! She was attentive and took notes so they would be ready to go when I arrived. This is a real, no nonsense, professional, who has years of experience. He knows exactly what he's doing, this is very hard to find these days. His charges for his services and medication is more than reasonable, they are excellent! Your really getting more than you pay for at this Veterinary Clinic! This is an outstanding Veterinarian! He is very thorough and detailed. The tech staff was friendly and and are an extension of the Vet and the culture of the clinic. He has done a great job hiring these terrific women that work there. I brought a puppy over today for him to check that went great too. This Vet and his staff treat you and your pet like the pet lovers, that they are, too. Go there with the confidence knowing your pet has the care given to them by a professional clinic, on call 24x7! That's called dedication to your client(s), you, and the patient. 5 stars this clinic is the real deal. Thank you for your help Dr. Malik appreciated. Update: 9/16 Everything is coming together nicely and his skin is so much better now. He shows it he’s more engaged and happy.
