Health Maintenance and Disease Prevention

The first and most important component in maintaining your pet's good health is a complete physical examination. Partly because of the shorter lifespan of our companions, we stress the importance of performing such an exam at least annually. In some cases, more frequent exams are warranted. Thorough check-ups combined with appropriate preventative care can help alleviate or prevent serious health problems.

Nutrition Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We will also provide information on how to determine which foods are poorly balanced and/or contain components dangerous for your pet. Please visit the Pet Food Choices section of our library.

Vaccinations: Vaccinations have become an important measure used to prevent major illness, not only in dogs and cats, but in people as well. The appropriate vaccinations used for your pet vary depending on circumstances and what your pet's habitual activities are. We will be happy to discuss our individualized recommendations at any time.

Training: We offer a variety of suggestions and advice tailored to your unique situation. Our office also stocks a variety of literature to help in teaching your dog or cat the proper rules involved in making them a happy, contributing member of your household.
